International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) offers a high quality line-up of carefully selected fiction and documentary feature films, short films and media art. IFFR is one of the largest audience and industry-driven film festivals in the world. During twelve festival days, hundreds of filmmakers and other artists present their work to a large audience (2016: 305.000 admissions) and 2.538 film professionals. The festival’s Official Selection includes some 252 feature films and 225 short films out of 50 countries. It aims to organise and stimulate film-related activities in Rotterdam.
For the editions in 2014 – 2016, I joined the team as Event Producer. I was responsible for the coordination of all activities other than the regular film programme, including the official opening party, debates, music performances, educational programmes, dinners and corporate hospitality, and many more.
Currently, I am preparing the official opening as the overall coordinator. Next to that I will coordinate the Film Control. It is a significant process that the administrational preparation regarding the film programme finds a structured transition to the actual screening in all theaters. My job is to make sure that this process gets the structure it needs and the films are screened as they are supposed to be.
